Dear customers, partners, and friends of ProKASRO,
The business year 2017 is drawing to a close and ProKASRO Mechatronik GmbH takes a satisfied look at the past months that comprised in-house innovations, new partnerships and an international expansion.
*** ProKASRO Services USA ***
In November 2017, ProKASRO Mechatronik GmbH launched a service facility based in Denver in the U.S. state of Colorado. This constitutes the first milestone towards our own production site in America.
From now on, American and Canadian customers can directly get in touch with the on-site ProKASRO service team to discuss their concerns and will receive fast support, for instance when problems arise at their construction site. In addition, we will in future be able to offer service training at short notice to enable our customers to reliably repair their own equipment. The easier delivery, clearly reduced lead times and mostly congruent time zones across North America permit the swift handling of spare part deliveries and speedy execution of repairs by our qualified service technicians. The Service Centre in Denver constitutes ProKASRO’s first own trading post in the USA. Further stations are planned for the near future.

*** Innovation Award 2017 ***
On 28 November, ProKASRO was granted the Innovation Award 2017 of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg by the Minister of Economic Affairs, Mrs. Hoffmeister-Kraut. The prize was awarded for the newly developed bend-capable light chain “Ikarus” in conjunction with the house connection milling robot KASRO smART for the trenchless rehabilitation of pipelines with small diameters ranging from DN 100 to DN 200.
A total of four companies were granted the federal state innovation award, which was endowed with a total of 50,000 Euro.

*** Leakage monitoring for KASRO E-milling robot ***
As of January 2018, leakage monitoring will be available specifically for the KASRO electronic robots 4.0 and 1.7. Robots will be pressurized with a permanent internal pressure of 0.5 bar to prevent the ingress of water. Damage to the device caused by penetrated water is rendered virtually impossible by this system because the internal pressure is constantly monitored. As soon as the internal pressure drops and falls short of a certain value, a warning is issued. To ensure that no condensate arises, an air dryer is used that extracts moisture from the air. This effectively counteracts the wear of gaskets, rust or damp electrical connections.
*** Support for the ‘Sybelzentrum’ in Karlsruhe ***
For this year’s ProKASRO summer festival, we had a special idea: we wanted to support a social facility in our region. Following an in-depth search, the ‘Sybelzentrum’ for children and youth welfare became our charity partner. During the summer festival, an opportunity to donate money on the spot was provided. Numerous guests followed this invitation and ProKASRO as a company also donated a certain amount. On behalf of the ‘Heimstiftung Karlsruhe’ we would at this point like to express our sincere thanks for the donations.
The ‘Sybelzentrum’ for children and youth welfare is housed in a historic building in the South of Karlsruhe, which urgently needs to be completely refurbished. Various programs for children, adolescents and their families as well as young adults are offered: Integrated services include taking children into custody or placing them in standby foster families during critical situations, residential groups, psychological services and even a school.
The building was constructed in the mid-19th century and in 1911 became the municipal home for children and infants. In the meantime, it has been turned into a modern place of refuge for children and young persons in distress, regardless of where they come from, regardless of the time, every day of the year.
We are proud that we have been able to provide support with our donation and will accompany the ‘Sybelzentrum’ throughout the refurbishment work.
