Guadeloupe March 2024 – ProKASRO goes Pirates of the Caribbean

Our two application and service technicians Richard Plank and Nicolas Kempf were allowed to work where others take vacation in the third week of March 2024.

On the beautiful Caribbean island of Guadeloupe. It all started with Grand Travaux Caribéens ordering a KASRO container system with a KASRO UV-CCU including a KASRO UV double core 2 x 4 x 1000W. In November 2023, a small delegation from the Caribbean visited ProKASRO in cold Karlsruhe to hand over the system. This flexible rehabilitation solution for UV linings withdiameters ranging from DN150-1200 makes jobsites particularly easy, which comes very handy for island hopping through the entire French archipelago.

But despite the summery 38°C and white dream beaches, our team couldn't even think about lying lazily in the sun. The top priority was the installation of three UV liners ⌀ DN 1200, each with a length of almost 35m, in rainwater culverts and the training of the GTC employees in Pointe-à-Pitre.

After the first construction site inspection and a final equipment check at the beginning of the week, they could get started. The construction site required a lot of preparation, such as pumping out existing water and building a concrete platform in order to be able to reach the pipes that needed to be rehabilitated with dry feet. In addition, a total of 80 tons of gravel were delivered for an access road allowing the excavator to deliver the liner boxes to the construction site without any problems.

The rehab work was completed flawlessly thanks to the extremely willing and adaptive team from GTC. This way our ProKASRO UV professionals always have particularly lots of energy and drive to get the job done.
